Sherrie Whatton is the President and Strategic Partner-in-Charge of LBMC Staffing Solutions, LLC, a Tennessee staffing firm that takes a strategic approach to recruiting - working closely with both candidates and employers to find the best fit for both parties involved in the hiring process.

Sherrie’s experience includes over twenty three years of accounting recruiting and management experience with national and local staffing industry companies.

Sherrie started her career in auditing with Arthur Andersen, LLP before transitioning into financial recruiting. She was named national “Rookie of the Year” in her first year recruiting for the firm. After launching her career in financial staffing, Sherrie was recruited to open the first Southeast office for a growing national recruiting firm and after two years became the second largest branch in the nation.

In 1998 Sherrie joined LBMC to launch and lead LBMC Staffing Solutions, LLC, now an award-winning recruiting firm solving client problems in the fields of accounting, finance, HR, and IT staffing.


Sherrie has over twenty three years of extensive experience in recruiting and the management of the sales and recruitment placement process of accounting/financial/IT and HR professionals in both direct hire and project based positions.

Sherrie oversees a team of professionals in three Tennessee markets with a very diversified client base including;

Community Involvement

Sherrie is a Charter and Active Member of Vistage, an exclusive group of advisors who lead local CEO peer groups and provide one-on-one coaching to top chief executives looking to grow their businesses, become better leaders, and improve their lives.

Sherrie is also an inaugural member for Lipscomb’s Masters of Management Program and serves as a coach for the Master student and provides direct work experience to enhance their educational understanding and application.

A Charter Member and Treasurer of Tennessee Recruiters Association (TRA), Sherrie has also served in various leadership roles for Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), an international organization of management accountants over a fourteen year span.

Sherrie is also actively involved in 4Word, a national organization servicing professional Christian woman and dedicates time mentoring Nashville’s Professional Women as part of the National Business Journal’s Monday Mentoring Program.

Outside the Office

A native of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Sherrie resides in Franklin, TN, with her husband of twenty two years and their two teenage children. When they aren’t spending time paddle boarding at the lake, their family enjoys travelling, biking, snow skiing and going to the movies. Their daughter is a student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, studying nursing, and their son is in high school. 

Sherrie is very involved with organizations that help children and families thrive. She is a long-time supporter of the Oasis Center-a nationally recognized organization on a mission to help young people move into a happy, healthy, and productive adulthood. She also has served as a Leader in Women’s Ministry of Forest Hills Baptist Church and is now actively involved at Brentwood Baptist Church.

Sherrie is an avid supporter of JDRF, a leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research.

Her volunteerism extends beyond the South-East; Sherrie has volunteered with children and adults in Uganda. She also serves as a host family and ambassador to Imani African Children’s Choir. They also actively sponsor a young child, Martin, in that region. Sherrie is actively involved in Raise the Roof Academy and Divine Care Ministries, which is a partnership of individuals dedicated to working with children and families to reach their full potential by outfitting permanent village schools that will educate and nurture leaders that shape Africa and the world.
